Accreditation Administration System:
Under specification A517/A517M,pressure vessel steel plate and sheet A517 Grade Q and A517 Grade S both have to be done the heat treatment under Quenched and Tempered.Except doing stress relived,all these plates A517 Grade Q and A517 Grade S shall be heat treated by heating to not less than 900 centi degree,quenching in water or oil and tempering at not less than 620 centi degree.Else for the low temperature impacting test,transverse charpy V-notch impact test specimens shall have a lateral expansion opposite the notch of not less than 0.015 inch,it is about 0.38mm.
For these high yield strength steel plate A517 Grade Q and A517 Grade S,the tension tests shall be adopted according to the minimum yield point as 690 Mpa for the plates thickness below 65 millimeters,and tensile strength shall be within 795-930 Mpa.The yield strength may be determined by the 0.2% offest method or by the total extension under load of 0.5% method.And the the thickness not above 20 millimeters of steel plates A517 Grade Q and A517 Grade S,the test specimen shall be the 40 mm wide rectangular test specimen.
